Family Neustifter
The family Neustifter in Poysdorf has dedicated themselves entirely to pleasure and experience. The heart of the family business is the winery, which organic winegrower Monika Neustifter runs together with her father. Many helping hands in the vineyard, cellar and office support the winemaking duo in the sustainable cultivation of the approximately 24 hectares of vineyards. The conscious use of resources is a major concern for all of them.
Organic farmer Brigitte Neustifter runs the farm and provides support at the winery and at the hotel. Her cellar tours, wine tastings and underground walks into the cellar alley lane 'Radyweg' are legendary. Roman Neustifter shows that wine and food belong together in his TOP Heuriger Wein.Küche.
And their team
The hotel Neustifter, located right next to the winery, has also been part of the group for some time now. Here guests cannot only taste wines and indulge in culinary delights, but also spend the night, take a vacation and relax - just the way the Weinviertel region does.
Ulrike Nemecek is the host at the hotel. She is supported in the kitchen by head chef Martin and his team. The Neustifter family is available for vinophile inquiries and tastings. The winegrowing family is mainly busy in the vineyards and the cellar and organizes the interaction between winery, hotel and restaurant in the background.
How it all began
The winery was founded in 1930 by the Neustifter family as a small farm in Poysdorf. At that time wine production still played a very minor role. In 1992 Karl Neustifter Jr. and his wife Brigitte took over the winery and expanded the vineyard area over the years, adding vineyards in the best vineyard sites in Poysdorf: Hermannschachern, Maxendorf and the famous 'Saurüsseln' vineyard.
From the very beginning conscious interaction with nature has been a top priority for the couple. The winery was relocated to the Poysdorf vineyards in 2000 and since then the cellar, wine storage and tasting room has been united in one location. The 100 meter long traditional barrel cellar admits the red wines to mature in silence. This cellar leads to an old historical cellar in the cellar alley lane ‘Radyweg’. Monika Neustifter has been supporting her parents at the winery since 2010 and is responsible for vinification and sales together with her father.
